Providing At-Home Everyday Care To People Living With Dementia

Living with someone with dementia can be challenging, let alone stressful and all-consuming, especially as the stages of dementia progress. It can also seem daunting to look for nursing homes that specialize in caring for people who have dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Not only can that be expensive, but it’s also an unfamiliar environment for your loved one. While they may be experiencing memory loss, it can reassure the person caring for someone with dementia to have them at home in the home and community they’re familiar with in the first place. This is precisely what the Peak Home Healthcare team specializes in; in-home care for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. We provide custom and flexible in-home support services that help everyone – patients with dementia, family members and friends – live a happier and healthier life.

Specialists In Caring For People With Dementia

At Peak Home Healthcare, we pride ourselves on creating and maintaining a safe environment for our clients in every situation. We recognize that each circumstance is unique and, therefore, can create custom care packages specific to each individual’s needs. Besides assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), we also offer help to individuals experiencing different forms of cognitive impairment, including dementia. Dementia is a loss of cognitive abilities such as remembering things, making decisions, communicating, and more. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia. As symptoms of dementia worsen, those diagnosed will need more help and home safety may become a concern. We recognize that clients suffering from different forms of dementia or Alzheimer’s require more specialized care which is why we approach these cases with a high degree of sensitivity and compassion.

We’ll Help Your Loved One With Dementia Feel Comfortable As They Continue To Live At Home

Making health care decisions can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. Home care options allow people with dementia and their families to feel less stressed. When people with dementia live in their own homes, not only is their quality of life improved, but family members feel happier and healthier too.

Whether short or long-term care is required, family members can feel assured knowing theirv loved one is receiving help with everyday tasks like using the toilet, bathing, meals, getting to and from appointments, and more. Our compassionate caregivers strive to provide a safe, warm and welcoming environment to ensure the patient feels as comfortable as possible with them. Caregiving is our passion, and so is keeping loved ones at home for as long as possible.

Highly Trained and Compassionate Caregivers

Our personal care professionals are highly trained and compassionate individuals who specialize in caring for patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s, including those in the later stages of their diagnosis. Extensive in-home assessments with a Registered Nurse provide a comprehensive evaluation that enables us to provide the best possible care. We work with our clients and their families to methodically design and implement a customized care plan that fits their needs. Ongoing direct communication between the supervisory nurse and our certified GPA (gentle persuasive approach) caregivers also ensures this comprehensive care plan is updated regularly.

Working as a team, we share best practices and are committed to continuous education and coaching. As a result, our staff is extremely knowledgeable and better prepared to handle any challenges of care that may arise. Peak Home Healthcare’s unique approach to Alzheimer’s and related dementias empowers our clients and improves the quality of life for both them and their families. Unscheduled supervisory visits are also conducted to ensure that our clients are receiving the highest standard of care.
